MEET OUR TEAM
Water Works is a family-owned and operated business established by Cody and Barb Heller in 2012. Since its inception, our mission has been to deliver superior quality and better-tasting water to the residents of Brookings and the surrounding area.
Cody
Captain of the Ship
Cody is the master coordinator of chaos, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Water Works. You’ll most likely hear Cody on the phone or see him tinkering under a hot tub. Cody is passionate about ensuring your water works for you.
In addition, Cody is a motorhead who loves vintage cars and trucks, riding motorcycle, attending concerts, and spending time with Cricket and Blue, the family dogs.
Randy
H2O Whisperer
Randy has been voted a favorite by Water Works’ customers. He’s the man with the solution to your water care needs from repairing and installing water conditioning equipment or delivering your salt or bottled water.
Because Randy can’t spend enough time with water he also enjoys fishing on it. In addition, he enjoys go-kart racing and watching Street Outlaws.
Ross
Splash Support Specialist
Ross helps keep Water Works’ customers soaking, swimming, and smiling by assisting with spa service and pool maintenance. Whether he’s balancing water, cleaning pools and spas, servicing equipment, or helping with routine service, Ross plays an important role in making sure customers can relax and enjoy their water without worry.
When he’s not helping customers enjoy clear, healthy water, Ross enjoys Spending time with 4 kids and wife.
Reselling treasures found from storage units and garage sales! Spending time on and under the water, scuba diving, boating and swimming. Volunteer coach for the Brookings 4H shooting sports.

Barb
Captain of Commerce
You may spot Barb stationed behind the desk, where she primarily handles invoicing and customer correspondence. Further behind the scenes, she acts as a sultan of strategy with Cody.
Barb also teaches business, entrepreneurship, and marketing courses for the South Dakota State University Ness School of Management & Economics.
She is also a concert junkie who loves cheesy jokes, riding motorcycle, watching football, and dogs. In addition, she speaks FRIENDS and the Office fluently.
Charley
Customer Experience Ambassador
You will find Charley in and around the store, making deliveries, helping to keep your pools safe and clean, and assisting with daily operations. Don’t be surprised if she strikes up a friendship with your dog.
She also enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and performing with the high school marching band, and winter drumline. In addition, she loves attending live concerts.
Chasen
Client Care Concierge
Chasen can be found stationed behind the desk, greeting you at your front door with bags of salt, or assisting with your hot tub and pool maintenance needs.
Chasen is also a talented and enthusiastic drummer. He is currently studying Finance at Minnesota State University-Mankato where he stays busy on campus as a member of the marching band, The Machine, the Integrated Business Experience program, Finance Club, and Honors Program. Outside of those interests he enjoys playing pickleball, learning about cars, riding motorcycle, and fine-tuning his mad Madden skills.
